Question: Very sharp pain in right arm. Very similar to hiting the "crazy bone". Seems to originate from the sholder or mid inside of the bicep. Occures when reaching for anything or reason. Results are a sensation of shooting pain, feels like "Sparks" shooting out the lower palm of the hand. Always in the same location. Aproximately 1.25 inch toward the hand as measured from the wrist. Center is on the crease of the hand. Began about a month ago. Was ocasional at first but has over the lase two weeks become consistant, occuring every time I reach for anything.
Answer: The pain and numbness that this patient describes would be consistent with either an entrapment neuropathy or radiculopathy (pinched nerve). Evaluation by either a neurologist or neurosurgeon would be the best course of action.
