Question: My mother recently passed away from compications from Anurizm surgery she fell ill sundenly was rushed to j,boro and then airlifted to L.R where they found 3 large anurizms should I have a MRI ran to check for these she was just 66 and had no previous symtoms
Answer: We used to think that it was not necessary to do a MRI scan in this situation. However, new studies indicate that it is appropriate to do a MRI brain scan on first degree relatives of a loved-one who has had cerebral aneurysyms diagnosed. Just as in the case of your mother, the presenting symptom may be a bleed.
